Merging vault from two different devices

@MikeT and @amking0 , I have a similar need. I have a Dropbox vault syncing between my other Mac and my iPhone. I downloaded the App Store version onto my new laptop and somehow indicated to 1Password that I wanted to start a new vault rather than sync to the existing data. Now I have an empty vault and I can't get 1Password to get rid of its data and try to sync with the existing data in Dropbox. The data seems to still be there, as my iPhone still sees it all. Not sure what to do next.

@zoundsabar: Ah, this seems to be a separate issue. Now, you could start over with a new vault, but it may be simpler to merge the two.
Just setup Dropbox Sync on your iPhone, and then when you set up Dropbox Sync on your Mac, point it to the same vault you're using on iOS (you can verify the path in Settings > Sync > Sync Service). 1Password will warn you that they do not match, but then you can choose Merge Anyway to...well, merge them anyway. Then you'll have both using the same vault with combined data. I hope this helps! :)

I too have not been able to get my laptop to sync with my desktop via iCloud. Have tried everything, uninstalling, starting from scratch, changing passwords, go-using the finder-deleting the preferences and other settings named agilebits and 1password, etc. I would like 1 vault, not two. After uninstalling and restarting and deleting, It will not give me the option to start from scratch either. Suggestions?....ah....after two days....10 minutes after posting this...it just worked...thank you in advance, I guess...

Hello @janicenelson,
That sounds frustrating. Fighting with it for two days is frustrating and even more so if stuff finally falls into place for no good reason right after asking for assistance. It's hard to say what the trouble was for you but if everything doesn't run smoothly from here on in please do let us know.

@janicenelson: Indeed, it sounds like it may have just been some delay in the data syncing over. I see this more with Dropbox (admittedly probably because I have more data there) but of course iCloud has to sync data too, and this can take time. iCloud is also on its own schedule, so sometimes it's simply a matter of waiting. We're here for you if you need anything else! :)
