Moving from Dropbox to iCloud. What is the current situation?

I'm running 1Password Apps : 1 on my MacMini, 1 on each my 2 iPhones (1 is wife's), and 1 on my Windows 7 acer laptop.
I'm now, and have been using DBox in order to sync all my stuff from inception.
I want to move to iCloud sync (as I have much more 'paid for' storage), and asked this question when Mavericks was the OS and was told 'No'.

Now we are on latest El Capitano and was wondering if there has now been a solution to dump DBox in favour of iCloud and replicate what works with Dbox entirely on iCloud?

Key part is to sync 1Password on my Windows laptop with this method ?

Is there any documented procedure to do that safely / correctly ?

Thanks

Apple does not currently allow Windows users to sync using iCloud so I'm afraid it's not going to be the answer for you.

    Hi @michaelwayne,

Starting in version 5, 1Password for Mac and iOS use Apple's CloudKit technology for iCloud sync. CloudKit gives us a lot more control over how sync occurs, but unfortunately CloudKit is not currently supported on Windows. We have more information about CloudKit and 1Password here: Why does iCloud require at least iOS 8, OS X 10.10, and the Mac App Store?

Even if CloudKit was supported on Windows, I'm not sure if iCloud sync would be an ideal solution for you, because you mentioned that your wife is using 1Password on her iPhone. Do you and your wife share any 1Password vaults? If so, you wouldn't be able to do that with iCloud sync because iCloud doesn't let you share the data with a different iCloud account. If you want to share a vault or sync the same 1Password data with your family, you'll have to use Dropbox sync instead.

I'm not sure if you use multiple vaults in 1Password at all, but if you do, that's another reason iCloud sync wouldn't be helpful for you, as it doesn't support syncing multiple vaults.

Sorry, I know those aren't the answers you'd like to hear! But if you have more questions, please let us know - we're always happy to help. :)
