Trial expired while having a license?

Hi,

I've been a happy (paying) user of 1password for over a year now.
However today I got a message saying "trial expired, click here to buy"

How do I fix this?

Cheers,
Jason.

This knowledge base article will probably help you:

@spiritonline: Indeed. Unfortunately 1Password has no way of knowing whether or not you've purchased it unless you register the app with your license information.

But the good news is that all you need to do is follow the instructions in the license email you received from your purchase and click the link to automatically install the license in 1Password to register the app and remove the trial restrictions.

Now, normally I'd resend your license information via email at this point...but we don't have any records matching this address. Did you perhaps purchase from the Mac App Store? If so, you won't have a license at all, and you'll need to install the app from there instead. Please let me know what you find! :)

    He Brently,

I've found my old purchase e-mail and was able to re-activate :)
I now understand why this happend, I made a clean install of el-capitain which obviously removed 1password and it's license.

The reason you could'd find my details is because I purchased under a different email ;)

    Thanks for the quick support.
    Jason.

  • @spiritonline On behalf of brenty, you're most welcome. Glad to hear you were able to sort things out. If you have any other questions, feel free to let us know!

Please refer to this knowledge base article (the link to which I posted above but which I'll repeat here for convenience):

@Phillippa: Indeed. You'll need to register the app with your license, or it simply cannot know you purchased it. I don't see any records under this email address, so I can't resend your license information. If you have it already, great! If not, shoot us an email at support+licenses@agilebits.com with your purchase information so we can look you up and get you taken care of. Cheers! :)

@brenty This may indeed be my mistake but I'm confident that I purchased 1Password in April 2015. When using 1Password on my iMac it works fine. Today I set up the Dropbox sync because I want to use 1Password on all devices. I then got a Trial Expired message but only on my MacBook Pro. I will investigate my purchases more thoroughly to be sure of exactly what has been purchased.

@Phillippa: Sorry if I gave the wrong impression: I wasn't implying that I'm certain that you didn't purchase 1Password, only that I'm certain that we don't have any records under this email address. And keep in mind that if you purchased from the Mac App Store, we won't have any record of that (and you won't have a license), as it's owned and operated by Apple.

Be sure to check your records, as you'll have received an email receipt regardless of where you purchased it. And don't hesitate to email us as I suggested above if you need to provide additional information you wouldn't want to post on a public forum in order for us to help you track it down. :)
