Brower Plugins Very Slow - Any Advice to Speed Up?
I have recently upgraded to El Capitan (which may or may not be relevant). All 3 browser plugins (FF,Chrome,Safari) are now extremely slow - on typing in the main password you see only the first few characters and wait for up to a minute before the remaining dots appear and the plugin is unlocked. I have posted a video to demo at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uHiCdRpKedw
1Password Version: 5.4.1
Extension Version: current as of 1/11/2015
OS Version: 10.11.1
Sync Type: Dropbox

Hi @paul_srisom,
Obviously this is serious and we will take it seriously but I have to say, I did laugh at the "still waiting" comment in your video. I'm sorry, I do apologise.
Something is quite wrong there (clearly). About 18 seconds or so from the end of the video I notice the cursor starts flashing and until then had been paused which is never a good sign. Still, even with the flashing cursor it's clear something is still taking a while as you don't press any keys meaning there was still the enter key in the keyboard buffer.
The first thing is, does the issue happen after a reboot of your Mac? I'm wondering if something is a bit gummed up but just in some temporary form. Every so often we find weird issues are very much a product of something gone a bit weird in OS X and a reboot resolves it. It doesn't fix everything but it's worth a shot.
Now when you click on the extension icon it's actually just making a call to 1Password mini and that's the extension done, so we're looking at 1Password mini here. So I'm curious, do you see the same behaviour if you open up the main 1Password window?
Lastly for now, I don't think this will be the issue but do you have more than one copy of 1Password on your machine at all? Multiple copies can have quirky behaviour but this would be a new one if it was. So I don't think it will be this but always best to cover all the bases.

Hi and thank you for coming back to me so promptly. I rebooted my iMac (has probably been many months since the last time it was shut down) and that does seem to have fixed the issue. I have tried 1password once and it went in immediately - which is a relief thank you! Before I rebooted I did check your other questions and it was still opening fine in the normal window - I had started to go from there as a workaround. And I do have only the one copy of 1password on here.
Thanks for that - I will reboot my Mac if this happens again. I had almost forgotten how to - in the old Windows days the machine would kindly just reboot itself every now and then - even when you were giving a presentation.

Hey @paul_srisom! Glad to hear a quick reboot was able to resolve this. If you happen to have any other questions about this issue, or anything else you notice, feel free to pop in the forums and let us know. :) Have a wonderful day!
