can i still change security preferences after setting up as I have no task bar to change anything

can i still change security preferences after setting up for the first time when I purchased 1password5 from Apple App store
I now have no task bar to change anything all I can do is add logins

Welcome to the 1Password community! You can indeed change your security settings by clicking 1Password in the menu bar and selecting Preferences. From there, navigate to the Security tab.

I now have no task bar to change anything all I can do is add logins

That's strange. Do you mean your OS X menu bar isn't appearing or you don't have the 1Password mini icon in the menu bar? If you don't have 1Password mini, simply check the box labeled "Always keep 1Password mini running" in the General tab of 1Password's Preferences. Let us know if that helps!
