Syncing my Mac at work with my Mac at home using Dropbox

I'm trying to sync 1Password on two MacBook Pros and can't get it to work.

    (I am assuming there's no basic problem such as your access to Dropbox in fact being banned at your work. :) )

    Sorry to hear that setting up sync wasn't a smooth experience for you. We'd love to help you get that up and running. As @Stephen_C mentioned, it'd help us if you could give us some more information about your setup. Here are some questions that would help us greatly:

    • Are you using the latest version of 1Password on both the home and work Mac?
    • Are you signed in with the same Dropbox account at home and at work?
    • Did you setup sync on one of the two devices to sync to Dropbox already?
    • If so, on the other device, when you go into Dropbox in Finder, are you able to see the "agilekeychain" file under Dropbox/1Password?

    This will give us a starting point to determine what needs to be checked next.

    Hey Rick:

    Thank you for your response. Sorry for the delay in getting back to you but I learned, through your instructions, that my home laptop was still syncing with the wrong version of Dropbox. That error as been corrected and now all of the steps outlined by your bullets have been completed. Look forward to hearing from you soon.

    Greetings @ejlaney,

    When you say your home laptop was syncing with the wrong version of Dropbox, do you mean a different account?

    If this was the case then the first thought is to start working through the steps in Sync with Dropbox. If you weren't accessing the same Dropbox account on both Macs then those steps certainly were never going to work for you but they should now by the sounds of it.

    If you're still having trouble the other good use of the steps is you can say at what step it starts to deviate from what the guide suggests you should see and that will help us understand where the trouble is. Keep us updated :smile:
