"Also sync vault with..."
Sorry if this has already been addressed but I didn't find this in the forums:
When I was set to sync over Wi-Fi, I saw the Preferences -> Sync screen of the Mac 1Password program (purchased through the App Store) said "Also sync vault with" and a showed a drop-down menu to choose iCloud or Dropbox.
By choosing one of those services, is it a sort of "best of both worlds" situation? Where I get the benefit of syncing over my home Wi-Fi and a cloud service?
Thanks.

Greetings @theomiz3,
In this case the user interface is possibly being a bit misleading.
Wi-Fi Sync allows a single copy of 1Password for Mac to synchronise your vault or vaults to one or more iOS devices also running 1Password for iOS. When you set it up on the iOS side you have to select the sync method (just the one) and it's designed with the idea of set and forget. Wi-Fi Sync though doesn't allow for multiple Macs to sync...
That's where Folder Sync comes into play. It can be combined with Wi-Fi Sync so that both your laptops and desktops are covered by Folder Sync while Wi-Fi Sync handles the mobile devices.
These are really both to cater for those that have strong thoughts on cloud services. If you're happy using something like Dropbox or iCloud (by the way, iCloud does mean you need the Mac App Store version of 1Password for Mac due to restrictions) it's a better sync option than Wi-Fi Sync because your devices will update whoever they are (as long as they have internet access) and they don't have to be in the vicinity of each other. If you're happy using a cloud service the Wi-Fi Sync won't bring any advantage to the table, it's really for those of those that simply don't like their data being in the hands of anybody else.
Does that help at all? If you have questions do please ask
