Data losts!

Mac, 1P 5.xx, Sync with DropBox between MacBook and MacMini
Last days the Program does not bakup local
I look for the Problem in forum and find a possible fix "Passwort mini neu starten"
I read it and do it!
Then the Applikation restart and write in red letter "Die Daten in Dropbox wären 4.xx Version".
No. I think. Its not right the Sync with DropBox is funcionally right because both Systems have the same Dataset.
A bug in restore funktion?!
I read it, ignore it and do it!
After the Program restart i have old Data.
What a mess!
Fortunately the MacMini local Backup is i.o.
So i can restorte the Version from 31.10.2015.
Can you explain me the Problem and give me a Solution / Tip what i can do, to avoid this situation ?
