How can I control which login defaults first?

I have the safari browser extension installed which lets me use 1Password mini and the hotkey ⌘\ to fill logins into my web browser. However when I go to gmail.com and push the hot key it always tries to log in with my wife's gmail account and not my gmail account. Her name starts with “C” and my name starts with “J”. How can I control which login items always defaults to the top or defaults for the initial hotkey login?

1Password Version: 5.3
Extension Version: 4.4.4
OS Version: 10.10.5

@muco007: It sounds like something else entirely. If there are multiple matches for given URL, 1Password doesn't pick the one at the top; it gives you a menu where you can choose the one you want. Check the URLs you have saved for each Gmail login. I suspect they are different, and that the URL you're visiting matches the URL you have saved in your wife's login. Let me know what you find! :)

URLs are the same . I've attached an image to clarify. You can see in the image "ACC Google" is the 1st option to log in with. If I'm only using my keyboard to quickly hit enter that would log in the wrong info. The log in with the correct credentials is the "Jeremy - Gmail" account. I want to avoid having to use the mouse. And i should be able to sort or set the order of the multiple accounts for a single url login so that i can just hit enter an my credentials will be filled in. How can I do that? Thanks!

@muco007: The extension (depicted in your screenshot) doesn't show the URLs. You'll have to open the actual 1Password app to view them. While you're there, you can also edit the other Gmail items and set Show to Never show in browser. If only your Gmail login is set to show in browser, 1Password will automatically fill that one when you press ⌘ \. If there's more than one, 1Password will offer you a list to choose from, rather than trying to guess which one you want. You can select this using the arrow keys, and then press Return, without having to touch the mouse.

And finally, it may be that you're also simply clashing with the way that Google's login system works now. Often, the email address is part of the URL itself. And even if it is not, unless you log out, the next time you return to the site it will default to the last account used. If you log out fully, it should give you a list of users, but that depends entirely on the way you have it set up with Google and the URL you're entering.

Edit the relevant item in the main app. Towards the bottom of the edit page you will see the display field.

Thanks, the screenshot helped find the "display" option but unfortunately I am still having issues. I have now selected the option to not display for the other accounts ( with the goal being to use the keyboard shortcut to auto populate with keyboard shortcut click for my gmail login). However now when I go to the log in page and use the keyboard shortcut on mac (command + backslash) no gmail login pops up only the menu for password generator. But if I click with my mouse on the 1 password icon in my safari web browser it shows the log in which can the be clicked ( 3 click process versus 1 in the past). I'm now really confused. Normal expected behavior (and I have use this great software since the very first release) is that I can just perform the keyboard shortcut to log in quickly with minimal fuss. Obviously once more than one account has changed that. Not to muddy the waters for the now occurring issues but I have wiped out the urls for each account and noticed they updated with unique urls. Attached screenshot of settings.

@muco007: Hmm. I wonder if it might be the URL that's causing the issue. These are really weird for Google now, because they have a single login portal with arguments added to the end to specify where you end up after logging in. For example:

    https://accounts.google.com/ServiceLogin?service=mail&passive=true&rm=false&continue=https://mail.google.com/mail/

Often I find that the URLs also include my email address as well. If you just use the first part of the URL, you'll end up in account management:

    https://accounts.google.com/ServiceLogin

So the best thing to do is logout completely, and then try the first URL I posted above, as it should take you directly to a login form for Gmail. I find it works well for me to manually save the login in 1Password on the password screen (the second step), and then simply adding the username to the new Login item manually afterward.

If you go to Gmail (or another service) directly without being logged in, you may end up at a 'choose the account' screen like me, which is not particularly useful for logging in quickly with 1Password:

    https://mail.google.com/mail/?tab=wm

Unfortunately Google seems to be making their login process more complex over time, but once you find your sweet spot it isn't bad at all — especially if you mainly use a single account. Let me know how it turns out! :)
