I have installed and uninstalled the google extension on Chrome for 1password over several days and that didn't work. Prior I followed all the google instructions including restarting the computer. All this began shortly after using El Capitan but not sure directly correlated. Not using Chromium and no known firewall issues. Using the extension from Agilebits site. Recently trying using the installed 1Password on my top bar and it did not work either. HELP..

1Password Version: 5.4.1
Extension Version: 4.4.3.90
OS Version: 10.11.1 (15B42
Sync Type: Cloud

  • Hey @DrTeleman! Did you happen to give this knowledge base article a read? If you don't have any firewall, do you possibly have Sophos or something else installed that may be interfering with things?

Yes, I did follow those instructions to no avail. I don't have Sophos or anything else that would interfere. It has worked well in the past with all prior OS's. Thanks for your reply.

    Hi @hrogove,

I'm sorry you're having trouble with the 1Password extension. The OP reported getting the “code signature could not be verified" error when trying to use the 1Password extension in Chrome. Is that the same problem you're having? If so, can you please let us know a few more details:

    Thanks!

Thank you, here is the data:
1Password Version: 5.4.1 from 1Password NOT App Store
    1Password Extension Version: 4.4.3.90
    OS Version: 10.11.1 (15B42)
    Google Chrome: Version 46.0.2490.80 (64-bit)
    Sync Type: Cloud
    Restarting does NOT help
    Main 1Password DOES work correctly.

@hrogove: I'm not able to duplicate this. Does Chrome maybe have an update pending? That's been known to cause problems for extensions. Otherwise, you've got something — not necessarily Sophos, but some software, on your Mac — which is preventing 1Password from verifying Chrome's signature. Either Chrome itself is correct, or something else is blocking the connection. Do you have other extensions? Firewall? Proxy?

You won't believe this, but after 3 weeks, it just started to work again just now!! Thank you all for your suggestions. Not sure what happened.

That's great news @hrogove! I don't know why it suddenly started working again, but I'm happy to hear it did!

Hopefully it continues to work correctly for you, but if the problem comes back or you need anything else, be sure to let us know. We're always happy to help!
