Firefox password import
Hi
I'm trying to import passwords from FF but doesn't seem to be working. I've used the firefox password exporter extension, generated the csv and plug that into 1P but nothing happens. Then I downloaded the 1P extension for FF but can't see any option to import passwords from FF.
Is there any easy way to do this? Thanks.

I think it would be helpful if you'd please tell us:
- What version of 1P for Mac you are using
- What version of Firefox you are using
- Your OS version number

From other threads, I believe you are using OS X.
The Firefox extension called Password Exporter offers two export formats - XML and CSV. Be sure to choose CSV.
Once your info is exported, open the file with a spreadsheet program or simple text editor, and delete the first row which looks like:
# Generated by Password Exporter; Export format 1.1; Encrypted: false
Here are two options to import: 1) use the native importer, or 2) use my CSV converter as part of the converters suite .
To use the native CSV importer, the 1Password for OS X CSV record cells should be in this order:
title URL username password notes custom_field_1 custom_field_2 … custom_field_n
So rearrange the columns to have the first five fields match this pattern (the title names don't matter). Save / export the file as CSV in UTF-8 format. Then you are left with a file that 1Password CSV importer can handle. If that doesn't work for you, then try the alternate method which follows.
To use my csv converter, you don't need to rearrange the columns, but you do need to re-label the headers. The header names you need are website (or url), title, username, password, notes. Case does not matter. Any other columns will go to notes. Just follow the converter's instructions in the README.pdf (I think you are aware of the process already).

MrC's convertor is da bomb as I believe the kids say... or used to say. Either way it does an amazing job of helping lots of people move their data into 1Password  We all owe MrC a huge amount of thanks to his amazing work.
