No iCloud option in Sync preferences [requires Mac App Store version]

When I open Pref's for 1P on my Macs (using 1P v5.4.1) and go to sync, only "none, DropBox & Folder" appear as choices for my Primary vault (I only have one), and I want to use iCloud. My Mac's 1P Pref's for syncing is currently DropBox, only because I only have "none" and "folder" as my other options.
Oddly, all 3 of my iOS devices have properly sync'd with my Macs, and my iOS devices are ALL set to sync with iCloud... that's another reason I'm kinda stumped here.

I suspect you may be running the AgileBits store version of 1P5 (which, following restrictions introduced by Apple on the launch of OS X Yosemite) cannot support iCloud sync (unlike the Mac App Store version of 1P5). See this knowledge base article:

@Ken Klinger where did you buy 1PW from and when? Due to restrictions by Apple, only the version from the Mac App Store can sync using iCloud. All versions can sync using Dropbox, which is technically at least as good as iCloud.
If you ought direct from AgileBits and the purchase was no more than thirty days ago, you can get a refund and buy through the App Store. Personally I would not bother.

@Ken Klinger: Indeed it does sound like you're using the AgileBits Store version of 1Password. That's just fine, but of course iCloud won't be available there. Dropbox is great option though, and it's what I use.
While only the version of 1Password from the Mac App Store supports iCloud Sync, otherwise the AgileBits Store version is identical.
I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any other questions! :)

Thanks everyone for all your help. I did happen to purchase 1P directly from Agile before the App Store even existed -- it's annoying how Apple has forced people to use DropBox, but I'm just glad I do use them especially for documents, so it was a no-brainer using their services to sync 1P across all platforms. I have three iOS devices, and after many attempts (received multiple error banners saying things like "cannot find old file path"), everything wound up being synced like it used to be.
Anyway, I'd have never figured out why my options were what they were in Pref's, where the iCloud option just disappeared -- or it would've eventually forced me to just use DropBox, without knowing why I needed to switch.
Thanks again!

@Ken Klinger: This is a really insightful statement. So much so, that it took me a few seconds to wrap me head around it. But you're absolutely right: Apple limiting where iCloud could be used is really good for Dropbox! It's just not something I'd given much thought to. I suspect that after iTools, MobileMe, and iCloud (take one) they may have simply been concerned about scaling and reliability (as many of us were!) But with iCloud's more recent track record and Apple's increasing openness, I wonder if things might be changing...

Indeed! Since I'm disabling and enabling sync often for testing, I am very familiar with this issue. This just happens sometimes because Dropbox is still fetching data at first, and then once things sync over the files are available and the errors disappear.

Thanks again! You're most welcome! I'm sorry for the trouble there, but I'm glad to hear that all is well. And of course we're here for you if you need us in the future. Cheers! :)
