This problem seems to come & go......heres what I like to do.....shut down 1 password only when I shut the computer off (every 3-4 days). IP used to do this , now it's started shutting down with every screen saver and sleep, resulting in re entering my master pw 10-20 times a day.Is there any way to get back to my preferred set up. There are no boxes checked in my security tab

    Hi @shadepuppy,

I'm sorry 1Password keeps locking itself when you don't expect it to!

...it's started shutting down with every screen saver and sleep

When you say "shutting down", do you just mean 1Password becomes locked? Or do you mean the main 1Password app and/or 1Password mini actually quits, so you need to re-launch it (and then it asks for your master password)? The screen saver and sleep mode on your Mac shouldn't cause 1Password or 1Password mini to completely quit itself.

If you just mean 1Password becomes locked, please check the following setting:

    • Open the main 1Password app and go to the menu for 1Password > Preferences.
    • Click the General tab.
    • Make sure the option for "Always keep 1Password Mini running" is enabled.

Please let us know if that setting was enabled or not. Thanks! :)

Drew, thanks for responding, the keep 1PW running is already checked. 1PW app is still running, icons are still there, but every time the screen saver kicks in, I must re enter the main password, I used to only have to enter the main pw once a day or so, or when I turned the computer off, everytime I want to visit a 1PW site it now requires the main pass word every time, I can no longer click on the icon in the browser and have it go to ....agilebits.com.......I must now re enter the main pw and then click on the icon, this means I am now entering my main pw and then the pw to agile bits.com in other words every visit to agile bits.com now requires 2 steps where it used to be just one

I think I have come up with a condensed way to state my problem........Every site I visit, that is 1PW protected......I must type in my Master PW, which could be as much as 10-20 times per day

    Hello @shadepuppy,

Can we try the following please.

    1. Enable all of the Auto-lock settings.
    2. Quit 1Password.
    3. Reboot your Mac.
    4. Launch 1Password.
    5. Disable all of the Auto-lock settings.
    6. Let the screen saver activate.

I'm wondering if the setting got messed up somehow. If it did maybe this will reset it. If that didn't work then it might be worth checking out a diagnostic report. This guide will assist.

Please do not post your Diagnostics Report in the forums

The email address you will want to use is support+forum@agilebits.com.

When sending the diagnostic report to the address above it would help immensely if you could include a link to this thread and your forum handle so we can connect the two.

Once you've sent the report a post here with the ticket ID will help us to keep an eye out for it. With access to the report we should be able to better assist you
