Switching from Mac App Store to AgileBits Store version

@brenty Got a question for you. Now that I switched from the Mac App Store version of 1Password to the AgileBits Store version... I was wondering if there's any way that I can get a 'refund' (or AgileBits Store credit) for the Mac App Store version because I'd like to purchase an Mac + Windows bundle instead.

I'm still within the 30 day period, I purchased from the Mac App Store on 10/10. Let me know what you think. Sorry to pester. It's just that my fiance uses a Windows 10 laptop and I'd like to install 1Password on it as well.

AgileBits can't refund in respect of purchases from the Mac App Store because it has no control over, or access to, the Mac App Store. However, you can benefit from the Mac/Windows bundle from the AgileBits store. Send an email to support+licenses@agilebits.com with the following information:

1. your full name;
2. your full address;
3. evidence of your purchase of 1Password from the Mac App Store;
4. a request for a price for the Mac/Windows bundle;
5. a link to this thread.

You will receive an automatic response with a ticket number. Post that number in this thread, which will help AgileBits connect the two and speed the response.

Since your question is a bit different than the one from the previous discussion, I've moved your post to a new thread to avoid confusion. I hope you don't mind! :)

Stephen's reply is spot-on - we can't process refunds ourselves for items sold on Apple's App Store, as Apple maintains all control over transactions including refunds. However, you really don't need to refund your Mac App Store purchase. If you install the AgileBits Store version (stable or beta), it will see that you've previously had the Mac App Store version installed on that Mac, and will automatically activate itself.

In addition to that, we'll be happy to create a license for you for the AgileBits Store version of 1Password 5 for Mac. If you have another Mac where you haven't previously downloaded the Mac App Store version, you can use the license to activate the AgileBits Store version. That license would also give you a discount on a license for the Windows version of 1Password.

In order to do that, we would just need you to email us with a copy (or screenshot) of the email receipt you received from Apple when you purchased 1Password from the Mac App Store (or other proof of purchase). You can send that email to support+licenses@agilebits.com (and as Stephen said, please also include a link to this forum discussion and your forum username so we can "connect the dots"). If you post your ticket number here, we'll make sure you receive a reply from our support team as quickly as possible.
