Feature Request - "Take iSight Snapshot" button next to Add Attachments
Yah, pretty much just that - a shortcut to adding a picture of an ID Card / Membership Card / Credit Card instead of taking the picture, resizing it, saving it and importing it manually. I know there have been other request to add a level of OCR to this in order to automatically import credit card / membership numbers as well, this could be implemented in an interim/incremental sort of way.
What I'd love to see - a preview popup with superimposed image guides to help the user hold the card in a way that gets it captured proportionately, at a reasonable size/angle, and at a resolution such that when/if you do add OCR functionality it would be suitable for scanning electronically. The screen could flash to help with lighting like it does in Photobooth. OCR could be added in a way such that an existing image file could also be scanned, and dialog boxes made to suggest which fields are populated from the detected text strings. Oh, and I'd also like fairies could come out of the superdrive to give me a shoulder massage while I'm holding the card up if that is not asking too much.
This sort of functionality (or at least a subset of it) could really make adding cards/data to 1Password easier and even fun, in a way that would further separate you from your competition. Anyways I know this stuff is lots of work and you guys are probably spread thin keeping your app as awesome as it is. Thanks for your hard work, you guys do a great job!

Greetings @robzr,
I'll be honest, I don't hold out hope of this happening if only because Apple seem to be doing away with the Superdrive
We see a similar request in 1Password for iOS and you would think that some of the work could be shared so that if implemented in one it's easy to bring to the other. For that matter, if the functionality appeared first on iOS would you care that much which platform as long as one of them did it?

Yeah, iOS would probably be a better place for it given the better and more versatile camera, so if you guys are working on that, that's great! But I'm going to keep an old superdrive around just in case... ;)
