I need to figure out how to sync between four MacBook Pros, two iPads, and three iPhones. Help
My wife, daughter, and I have all these devices, with four different apple IDs across the 9 apple devices. I am a heavy user of dropbox, but my family doesn't want to be linked to my dropbox because every time I upload new folders there, they appear on their devices. I've had 1Password for several years. I didn't download from the app store. I would like to use iCloud to sync 1 Password across all of our devices, or a dropbox account that is dedicated to 1Password. Suggestions? Thanks!
1Password Version: 5.4.1
Extension Version: 4.4.4
OS Version: 10.11.1
Sync Type: dropbox (at the moment)

Hey @Rube,
There are a few solutions worth considering here. First, each of your family members can set up their own Dropbox account. Since there are not nine family members, this will be better for everyone. You can share a 1Password vault with them via Dropbox and they can still have a nice sync setup that is tied to their Dropbox accounts so there's not any extra clutter.
Another solution is to, as you mentioned, use iCloud sync. This is even more limiting than Dropbox in this particular situation, though. To sync 1Password data with iCloud, all the devices you want to sync need to be signed in with the same iCloud account. That means your family's individual devices all need to be using the same account, which can be rather annoying if they want to download their own apps and have payment information tied to their account alone. iCloud backups are another thing to consider when everything is under one account. The last major limitation of iCloud is that you'll need to switch to the version of 1Password from the Mac App Store. We unfortunately can't provide discounts through the Mac App Store, so you'll have to buy the app at full price.
The last option is a bit more modern. It's called 1Password for Teams. We just introduced it last week. It can make things a lot simpler than Dropbox or iCloud by giving you access control over each person on the account and an easy way to share additional vaults, say, between you and your wife only rather than including your daughter (this can also be done with Dropbox). The only thing about 1Password for Teams is that it's still in beta, and you'll need the beta versions of 1Password for Mac to use it. We're going to release an update for our iOS app very soon, and that will support it as well. This option may be worth looking into for the future, but may not be for you right now.
Overall, the best solution for your situation is likely Dropbox. It's very simple to set up, you can have multiple vaults and only share one if you'd like, and it's proven to be a very reliable sync method for us at AgileBits over the years. I personally use it to sync a vault between my parents and my sister and have had no problems. If you have any questions at all about getting started, feel free to let us know. :)
