I wanted to upgrade my 1password from iTunes. Website price is $24.99 but iTunes price is $49.99.
I've currently have Microsoft Office for Mac Home & Business 2011. Now I just keep getting a notice that my trial has expired?
I figured that I probably needed an upgrade. When I enter my license here: https://agilebits.com/store/upgrade?product_id=108, it shows the upgrade price to be $24.99 but also says "Note: iCloud sync requires the Mac App Store version". When I attempt to get the Mac App Store version, it shows the price to be $49.99. Why does it cost twice as much to upgrade using the Mac App Store version?

Apple doesn't provide any way for developers to provide discounted upgrade pricing. Everyone pays the same price. On the other hand, because AgileBits controls their own web store, they can and do offer discounts for upgrades.
This is one of the things Apple ought to reconsider if they want to encourage the long term health of developer companies. They also should find a way to offer free trials.
Do be sure you know that if you want iCloud syncing, your only choice is to buy from the Mac App Store. Apple precludes apps they don't sell themselves from having access to the required CloudKit protocols needed for syncing. Dropbox is a viable and reliable option, and it would be cheaper for you because of the discounted price you are seeing from AgileBits.

Hey there @jenisse! As hawkmoth mentioned, developers are not able to provide discounted upgrade pricing (or pricing at all for that matter) on purchases made through the Mac App Store. That's why we have an upgrade page for folks to get a discount if they own a previous version of 1Password. I'm not sure this is the case for you, though, because I checked for licenses associated with the email address you used to sign up on this forum and I found a license for 1Password 5. I've just resent that to you so you can use it.
It's important to note that the license you currently have does not work for the Mac App Store version of the app, only the one from our Downloads page.
