Click "copy" does not work (doesn't work)
Using either the main app or the one attached to a web browser, I'm unable to get the "copy" button next to any given field to work. I always have to click "edit", (at which point the "copy" button disappears next to the field) highlight the data, and then command+c. It risks altering the data doing this, and seems like a lot of extra work. Why is the "copy" button there at all? It promises something and does nothing. I'm Charle Brown and it's Lucy with a football. I'm missing something here, right?

Sorry but you need to provide some basic information to help us diagnose the problem correctly for you. Please tell us:
- What version of 1P for Mac you are using
- Your OS X version number

Hi @tudor,
I'm sorry the 'copy' option isn't working for you!
As Stephen said, we'll need to know the versions of 1Password and OS X you're using. In addition to that, can you go into more detail about exactly what happens when you normally try to copy a password? When you hover your mouse over the password field in 1Password or 1Password mini, that field should be outlined (with a dotted line) and a 'copy' button should appear to the right of the password. Are you seeing that?
When you see the outline & copy button, you should be able to click anywhere on the password itself, or on the copy button, and the password should be copied to the OS X clipboard. Is the problem that when you try to paste it somewhere else, some other text is pasted instead of your password?
In the Preferences in the 1Password app, select the Security tab and look for the Clipboard option at the bottom. Is it enabled? If so, how many seconds are entered there?
Finally, you should also be able to copy other fields, like the username. Do you have trouble with that as well? Is the problem happening only for password fields, or for all fields that have the copy option?
Thanks! :)

Apologies for the oversight on versions. My 1Password 5 is version 5.4.1. My OS X version is 10.11.1. (I keep very current.) I do see the outline and copy button to the right of the password. I click on 'copy' and then check the clipboard, and find it hasn't changed. I also paste into another app and get the old clipboard data, not the data from 1Password. All the data fields behave the same way: outline, copy button appear, but no change to the clipboard upon clicking "copy". I checked the security tab, and see that "Clipboard" is NOT checked, and therefore the seconds field is greyed out with a default of 90.
Now of course, and I mean as of right now, I'm discovering this problem is intermittent. I seem to have some occasional success suddenly. This is the first I've seen it work - at all - in a very long time. Something akin to the car's strange noise disappearing when brought to a mechanic. Sheesh. Let's pretend it never works for the moment, if I may.

When did you last reboot your Mac? (Just a random idea...don't shoot the messenger. :) )

Stephen read my mind (which happens quite often, actually) - can you try restarting your Mac, then see if you still have the same problem? (Of course, since the problem is intermittent, you might want to wait until you're having the problem again before restarting, in order to tell if that actually helps or not.)
If rebooting doesn't help, does it happen to make any difference if you click on the actual 'copy' button or if you click on the field itself? In other words, clicking on the password itself should do the same thing as clicking the 'copy' button next to it, but I'm not sure if it makes a difference in this case.
