Can't sync

You really have to give us some basic information in order that we can help you. Please tell us:
- What version of 1Password for iOS you are using. (Please use that link to find out how to tell us your exact version number: "current update" means different things to different people.)
- Your iOS version number
- What sync method you use to sync your 1P data (Dropbox, iCloud or wifi)
- The device with which you are syncing your 1P data
- What you mean by:
What is macdown?
Is that part of some error message you see? If so, when do you see the error message and what is the full message?

Hi everyone. 1Password is V 3.7.2, my OS for my 6s+Iphone is 9.1, Ihave tried to sync on the cloud and WiFi w/o being able to.
I am trying to sync to the latest download. In addition, with the current Version, everytime I go into a new Login, it bumps me out to the password screen, and am forced to reenter the PW.
Can you help me or am I committed to the current version for ever?0 -
Hi @dpfoff,
Upgrading to 1Password 6 from 3.7.2 is a bit more complicated than syncing your data, as we changed some things behind the scenes with the update to 1Password 4. Have you seen our instructions for upgrading from 1Password 3.7.2 to 6? They should help walk you through the process.

I have followed the instruictions, but when tapping "open version 3", it goes directly into the V 3 program and does not come up with a menu for syncing.

I've tried the 3.1 and the 3.2 instructions. It still will not allow me to upgrade.I have backed up to the desktop.
Any suggestions?0 -
My desktop is a PC. The instructions above are for a Mac. Could you give me a link for the PC instructions with an IPhone please.
I have changed the desktop file from 1Password0100-20151113.1ptbackup to --3import.0 -
Hi @dpfoff,
Of course! Here are instructions for Windows:
Locate your 1Password 3 backup file. If you just completed the backup, it will most likely be in your Downloads folder or on your desktop.
Right-click on the file, and choose Rename from the context menu.
Change the extension name from .1ptbackup to .1pt3import.
Windows will ask you to confirm that you would like to change the file name extension. Click Yes.The instructions for iTunes should be the same for both Windows and Mac.
Please let us know if you have any specific questions about the process so we can better walk you through it.

When I right click on the backup file there is no option the says "file". I think I didn't create the backup file correctly. I typed in the http file from "Backup and Restore" but don't seem to have an option when I type it into Firefox or Google. Can you help?

Hi @dpfoff,
It sounds like you've misread Eva's instructions.
When I right click on the backup file there is no option the says "file".
It isn't supposed to. Eva said:
Right-click on the file, and choose Rename from the context menu.
The option you're looking for is "rename," not "file."
I think I didn't create the backup file correctly.
If you already have a file named
1Password0100-20151113.1pt3import
then you've already successfully completed the backup and the renaming process. You can jump to the instructions titled:Import your backup to 1Password 6
(here)
Please read and follow each step very carefully. If you have trouble following a step please let us know exactly which step you are having trouble with and why.
Thanks!

The problem is that I've never created a master password. That's where the hang up is. Do I have to transfer all the data manually?

It gives me a hint (My mothers maiden name) but doesn't recognize any that I put in.

Hi @dpfoff,
It isn't possible to create a 1Password vault that does not have a Master Password, as that is what is used to create the encryption key. If you cannot remember the Master Password, but otherwise have access to the data, then yes you may need to manually migrate it over. Sorry for the inconvenience. Please be sure to take note of the Master Password you've set up with 1Password 6 for iOS. Even if you configure it to unlock with Touch ID or a PIN the Master Password will still be required for some tasks.
Thanks!
Ben
