So the following would resolve the specific issue you have.
- Quit 1Password.
- Drag the 1Password application from your
/Applications/folder to the Trash. Please don't use an app cleaner. - Reboot your Mac.
- Download 1Password again from the Legacy section of our AgileBits Download page and move the new copy to your
/Applications/folder.
However as Stephen has pointed you to you will strongly need to consider upgrading to 1Password 5 for Mac due to compatibility issues with El Capitan. The sticky will hopefully prove useful but if you have any questions at all please do ask.
