Hi, unable to add extension - getting message that file downloded from this site is corrupt. Help?

Hi, I'm trying to add the extension for Firefox, but when I follow the steps listed here on one of the forum pages and try to add it manually, I get a message that the file I downloaded from your site is corrupt. I saved the Firefox link from this page: https://app-updates.agilebits.com/product_history/OPX4

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Laura

    Hi @LauraMaurer ,

Try the ones from here, perhaps enabling the Betas.

  • Hi @LauraMaurer,

You're using 1Password 1.0.9, the older version of 1Password program that only works with the older 1Password 3.x extensions for your browser.

If you're using Firefox 42 or later, 1Password 3.x extension are no longer compatible with it. You would need to upgrade to 1Password 4 extension, which would require the main program to be upgraded as well.

We'd be happy to help you upgrade, can you email us your 1Password diagnostic report to support+windows@agilebits.com. This guide will explain how to generate the report: https://support.1password.com/diagnostics/win.html

    Thanks!

Hi @MikeT, thanks for the quick response. When I go to "Check for new Version" in 1Password, it tells me I'm up to date. Is there another way to check for and upgrade to the newest version? I'll send along the diagnostic report as well.

    Thanks,
    Laura

  • Hi @LauraMaurer,

That's intentional, it only checks for the minor updates, not major versions as in 1.x updates.

You can find the latest 1Password 4 build on our site here: http://agilebits.com/downloads

The guide on how to upgrade is here: https://support.1password.com/upgrade-windows/

I would recommend backing up your 1Password data first by opening the current app and go to the Backup Menu > Back up 1Password Data.
