1password crashes when installing on MSI Ghost GS60 and I get blue screen

I download the latest 1password and try to install it on my MSI Ghost pro GS60 4K laptop and it crashes bring up a blue screen reboot. I have never run into this before and I have no problem installing other programs. What can I do?

    @tmmburke: Update your firmware. There have been cases where an IO bug has caused this. To be clear, 1Password cannot cause a blue screen, as it does not have direct hardware access under any circumstances. Windows simply doesn't allow that these days. However, 1Password may make a system call which does trigger a bug in a driver or faulty memory module, so it's important to make sure that everything else is up to date. Recently there was a report of a similar issue which was resolved by updating the BIOS, of all things. Please let me know what you find! :)

  • Thanks. Also, please make sure all of your drivers are updated as well in addition to your BIOS.

    I would also have everything backed up first.
