Feature Request: URL Handler Support for Quick Access from Safari

Some apps, like GoodReader, have added URL handlers to their iOS apps to enable a quick context switch to their app from Safari.

For instance, if you're looking at a site in Safari that is at http://www.google.com/mydoc.pdf, if you were to change it to ihttp://www.google.com/mydoc.pdf, it launches GoodReader with that URL loaded.

It would be great to have a login-requiring site up in Safari and to change the URL to something else - maybe xhttp:// or one:// or whatever - and have it launch your app with the URL pre-filled and starting to load (once auth'd).

  • Looks like GoodReader uses g and not i. Details on their implementation:

    Hi Hunter,

This is a great idea and we’ll look into doing something like that, thanks for the suggestion. As to when? I don’t have that information, what I can say is that it would be nice to see 1Password support something like that.

I can't find it at the moment, but I swear I have mentioned this before in the forums. I think it's a great idea.
