    @C3PO: I'm not sure what you mean. 1Password for Mac and Windows support both AgileKeychain and OPVault format. If you're having some sort of trouble though, be sure to let us know so we can help! :)

    @brenty When I copy the *.1p4_zip from my mac to my windows and try to open it via restore backup it says it is not a valid backup.

    @C3PO: Thank for clarifying! I've split this off into a separate discussion since we're talking about backup files now and not syncing vaults.

    Indeed, 1Password uses different backup formats depending on the platform, as the database itself is stored differently: with 1Password for Windows, the raw vault is written to disk; whereas with 1Password for Mac, all vaults are stored in an internal database (1Password for iOS is similar in some ways); so the backup file is a compressed copy of the actual database 1Password works with. I'm sorry for any confusion this causes. Let me know if you have any other questions! :)
