my user name and login doesn't fill in when I try to use the main 1pw or the broswer extension.

I know that the pw is correct because I've tried it, the URL is correct and so is the user name. It just doesn't automatically fill them in. I need to cut and paste them.

@StephanieDignan: First, make sure that you have the latest 1Password app and extension installed in your browser. And then if you press Ctrl \ at the webpage, 1Password will fill the login that matches it. If there are multiple logins matching that URL, you'll be given the option to select the one you want to use.

If you're still having trouble, please let me know the OS, 1Password, browser, and extension versions you're using, and we'll figure out what needs to be done. Thanks in advance! :)

The problem only happens with some websites, not all. Most fill in with no problem. I'm having this issue w/Chase.com.

I looked around and didn't see where it says specifically what version I'm on. When I checked for updates, it said there were none and I'm using the latest version.

I'm using google chrome and the latest 1pw

  • Hi @StephanieDignan,

Open your browser and click on the 1Password icon to go to Settings > About 1Password. Tell us everything here or you can take a screenshot of this to upload it here.

    Thanks!

@StephanieDignan: Thanks for mentioning the site! Specifically regarding Chase, I have an account with them myself. Please follow these steps to save the login manually:

    1. Navigate to https://chaseonline.chase.com in Chrome
    2. Enter your login credentials
    3. Click the 'keyhole' icon to bring up the extension
    4. Click the 'gear' icon for Settings
    5. Click Save New Login
    6. Give it a name and Save
    7. Close the webpage and select your new login from the extension to have 1Password Go & Fill
    8. Submit the form manually if you have autosumbit disabled

Ta-da! You now have a working Chase login. I hope this helps! :)

Hi Brenty, thanks actually I already have a saved login for Chase. The problem is that when I go to the browser extension to login, the Chase login shows up but it doesn't fill in the user ID and PW automatically, it's in there though.

I realized something else just now, when I clicked on your link to chase then went to the "keyhole" Chase showed up at the top and it logged in like I want it to do! I just don't know why it doesn't do this when I go through the extension to try to get in.

  • Hi @StephanieDignan,

In your Login item for Chase, what is the URL that's saved in there? Try editing it to point to this address instead: https://chaseonline.chase.com/

After that, try again, see if it works better.

By the way, the version of 1pw is 4.6.0.592 (12).

    Thanks for the follow-up, @StephanieDignan.

There's a newer version of 1Password for Windows here: https://app-updates.agilebits.com/product_history/OPW4

Also, have you tried using your Login item at the address @brenty and @MikeT mentioned (https://chaseonline.chase.com/)?

If so, please let us know how it went!

Hi D-If I click on the link (https://chaseonline.chase.com/) directly from main 1pw, it works great. However, if I pull up a browser then go to Logins from the broswer extension, it doesn't work.

  • Hi @StephanieDignan,

It should behave the same way. Can you check the Chase item in the main program, edit it and look at the URL on top, does it match or have extra data at the end of the URL? Try removing it and add https://chaseonline.chase.com/ instead.

Let me know if that works.

It's exactly that URL, there's nothing added to it.

@StephanieDignan: Hmm. Very odd. Can you edit the item in 1Password and tell me what's different from mine here?

Just be sure not to post anything that contains sensitive information. I wonder if you have some other boxes checked, or if the fields at the bottom are different or missing. Please let me know what you find!

    Mine looks exactly the same.

Can you try it in Internet Explorer, does it show the same problem? The extensions for Internet Explorer and Chrome don't work the same way and if you see the same issue in Internet Explorer, it would help us narrow it down.

It is strange that none of us can reproduce it. I wonder if there's something in Chrome that is interfering with this. I will check for this when you send us your 1Password diagnostic report that I asked for in the other thread you've created.
