Erorr during installation on win10
Hi together,
I am having issues while installing 1password on my brand new windows 10 installation.
It comes with an error concerning chilkatcrypt2.dll
I found an discussion from October where someone had the same issue and I now installed dependency walker. with the result attached.
I tried both the the newest official version and with the latest beta, both put this error message.
Do you know what is missing on my client?

Hi @Benjamin_M,
I get the same error in Dependency Walker even with 1Password properly working on Windows 10. Based my understanding of Dependency Walker's FAQs, this is probably normal because we are using it as an external dependency.
Can you show me the screenshot of the Properties > Details on your chilkatcrypt2.dll file in your C:\Windows\SysWOW64 directory. Here's what it should show:

Hi @MikeT
Thanks for your comment...
Here a screenshot from the properties:It looks like yours... Any idea?
If I might be on the wrong path with dependency walker please let me know. When I open dependency walker I get this error message.
Might this help any further?0 -
Hi there again,
I also like to post the error during installation.
It says something that the dll could not be registered during installation. After this I cancel the installation. In the meanwhile I installed Visual C++ 2015 redistributable package according to this thread https://discussions.agilebits.com/discussion/30131/chilkatcrypt2-dll-unable-to-register-during-installation But this didn't solve it either.
Looking forward what you can find out.
Fingers crossed.Best,

@Benjamin_M Here is an alternative installer you can try:

It sounds like maybe you do not have the user rights to register ChilkatCrypt2.dll with the Windows registry.

Hi @svondutch
I tried your approach with my admin account (it's a local account and different from my regular working account) and it doesn't work as the dll could not be registered. Any further ideas?

@Benjamin_M I'm afraid you do not have the user rights to register this ActiveX component with the Windows registry in this location.
What you can do is maybe launch the installer again, and then click on: Everyone (instead of Just me). Or install into some other location.
Did you follow all of the steps in this discussion? https://discussions.agilebits.com/discussion/30131/chilkatcrypt2-dll-unable-to-register-during-installation
