1Password Mini not opening with keyboard shortcut in Chrome [fixed in 6.2.BETA-4 for Mac]

I'm running 1Password 6 on OS X El Capitan. I've always used a keyboard shortcut for 1Password mini to quickly open, search, copy and paste a password when logging in to a htaccess/http basic auth protected URL. 1Password has never been able to auto fill Chrome login prompts so this has always been the work around for me.

Since a while back, a couple of weeks I think, I can no longer open 1Password mini with my keyboard shortcut when Chrome has a login prompt and is the active application. As long as Chrome is the active application nothing happens. If I switch to another application the keyboard shortcut for 1Password mini works correctly. The shortcut also works in Chrome when no login prompt is active.

My guess is that something changed in Chrome to catch all keyboard input when the login prompt is open and therefore it won't open 1Password mini. I'm wondering if someone else has the same problem and if there is any known workarounds. Other than switching application, open mini, copy and paste and then switch back.

  • Hi @donnex,

We're able to reproduce this ourselves and are tracking it to see what we can do to fix it. Unfortunately, I don't really have a workaround right now other than using the main 1Password app to copy/paste the info.

This issue seems to be resolved in the latest Chrome version for OS X (51.0.2704.63). I can now trigger 1Password mini from Chrome when a http login prompt is active :)
