App is shown as Alpha, not Beta [update Windows]
Hello,
I just signed up for a family plan today, and I was getting set up with the Windows 10 Beta App on my laptop. I went to the Microsoft store and searched for 1Password Beta and installed it. However when I launch the app, it says it's Windows 10 Alpha. I want to set up the app to connect to my Team account/vault, however I don't have the options that I've seen on the forums in order to add that account.

Hey @cdtdelta,
That's really strange! We've been in Beta for a while now and there shouldn't be any way to access the Alpha unless you're using a Windows 8.1 device. Can you send us a screenshot or tell us where it says alpha.
Also, are you certain you downloaded the app from this link?
To join your Teams vault(s), all you need to do is type /jointeam in the search bar, hit enter, and you'll see the Teams sign-up window appear. Then, all you need to do is enter your Teams account information :)

Attached is what I see in my start menu and when I launch the app. I downloaded it from the Store app in Windows 10. When I click on the link you provided, I get an error that it can't resolve the hostname.

My mistake, mistyped the url. Here's the correct one.
Thanks for the screenshots! Can you tell me which version of Windows 10 you're on; just go to the start menu and start typing "system information" and select this app:
When you open the app, your version number will be listed here:

Yeah when I go to that URL it shows I have it already installed.
My build number is 10.0.10240 Build 10240
(it's the education version of Windows 10 if that makes a difference)0 -
Hey @cdtdelta, I think the problem is that your version of Windows 10 is outdated and the store can only access the (older) Alpha version of the app. The build number you listed is from July 2015 and you will need to update to a newer build in order to use the Beta.
I'm not familiar with the education version of Windows 10, but i believe that updating Windows should be the same for all versions. To update Windows, go to the start menu, and begin typing "update", then click on this application:
If you see any pending installations of updates, you should install those first. If not, click the "check for updates" button and Windows will download the latest update and notify you when the updates are ready for installation.
After you've completed the update, you should be able to go back into the store and download the Beta. It also might be a good idea to delete the Alpha before downloading the Beta.
Let me know how it goes!

I am also running Windows 10 Enterprise (Not Insider Preview) and have a version of 10.0.10240 Build 10240. 1Password shows up as Alpha on my system, but then immediately closes before it allows me to do anything.

@KramRM, have you checked for updates to Windows, as described by @mohamedosman, above?
(I'm running an Insider Preview version and am not familiar with the Enterprise version. My OS version is 1511, build 10586.104, at this time.)

All Windows Updates have been applied.
I have another system that is Windows 10 Enterprise version 10.0.10586 Build 10586, which is the Insider Preview version of Enterprise. this system is joined to an Active Directory domain, and is not able to use the Windows Store to connect a Microsoft account to install apps.

Hey @KramRM!
Windows 10 Build 10240 is the "Release to Manufacturing" build of Windows 10, and it may be possible that you're stuck on this build if you aren't able to update, because the latest non-insider build for Enterprise is build 1511.
As for your other system, have you already setup a Microsoft account on it, or is that blocked as well?

I reformatted my system that had build 10586 and reinstalled with a 1511 ISO. I am now at build 10586.104, and I was able to login to the Windows Store and download the 1Password Beta 2016.2.1500. I am connected to my Family Team now. Thanks.

Thanks for getting back to us with your results! I'm happy to hear you got everything setup @KramRM and I hope you'll be able to update your OS more easily in the future :)

I am having the same problem and I'm also on the Education OS on the older build. How would I upgrade from 10240 to the supported version? I've searched the internet and couldn't find anything - I even enabled Insider Builds - but no help with updates...

Ok, I found a download for the Education 1511 ISO just like KramRM found, and it worked
