AgileBits Support, We’ve Got a Problem
Received the following message:
AgileBits Support, We’ve Got a Problem
The system launched an incorrect version of 1Password mini:
instead of ‘/Applications/1Password 6 app/Contents/Loginitems’ it started ‘~/Desktop/1Password 5.app/Contents/Library/Loginitems’.
I searched the
‘~/Desktop/1Password 5.app/Contents/Library/Loginitems’
but was unable to find it.
Please help.

Hi @hdeutch,
I'm sorry you're getting that error when opening 1Password! But thanks for letting us know what the message said, it's extremely helpful for us. :)
This problem is actually due to a strange issue in Yosemite and El Capitan which causes the operating system to open the wrong copy of 1Password mini when it finds multiple copies of the 1Password app. According to the error message, it looks like 1Password 6.app is in the Applications folder, and 1Password 5.app is on the Desktop.
To solve the problem, simply delete 1Password 5.app from the Desktop by dragging it to the Trash (do not use any app cleaning utilities to do that), then empty the Trash. If it won't let you empty the Trash, please restart your Mac and try again to empty it. That should take care of the problem.
Hopefully this helps, but please let us know if you have any trouble with that, or if you have more questions. Have a great weekend! :)
