Question from yesterday not answered
Hello,
I recently wiped my computer and restored from a recent backup. Strangely, my 1password extension seems to be pulling from a very old database judging by expiration dates on credit cards and the fact that no recent website credentials are found. I use drop box to store my 1password info. I'm not sure how to proceed from here, but it's going to be a rough ride if I'm not able to find my most recent data base. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Justin

Have you tried to remove 1Password from Applications folder and then reinstalling it from Mac App Store or Agilebits website (depending on where you originally got it)? I think that should fix the problem.

Hi, thanks for your suggestion. I tried removing and reinstalling the app, but none of my more recent logins (from the last several months) are showing up. Any other suggestions?
Thanks!

Hey @justingirves,
Sorry you're experiencing this.
I have a few thoughts. Firstly, there are two possibly 1Passwords you could be running. One would be from the App Store and the other is from the AgileBits webstore. They both store their data in different locations. So if you were using one but then now are running the other, it could have older data in its data folder. Do you remember if you used "1Password 6.app" (webstore) or "1Password.app" (App Store)? Do you have copies of both?
You could also be running two different 1Passwords simulatenously, and when you open it in the extension it's the wrong version running and it has old data.
If you open Activity Monitor and search for "1Password" in the top right, what is the list of apps that shows up? If you have more than one copy of 1Password mini than it sounds as if you have two copies running. If so I'd suggest you quit all versions of 1Password you can, find and run the apps and determine which one has the most up to date data and remove the other copy of the app.

Thanks for your response! I just checked activity monitor and noticed there is only one 1password mini running. However, since yesterday, I have deleted the 1password app and extension, then reinstalled. Today, I reinstalled the app from the app store and added the extension from Safari. Since this didn't have my recent data, I deleted the app and downloaded it from the Agile Bits website. This didn't work either. I am convinced that the correct folder is somewhere, but I don't know how to get it. Any chance we could set up a screen share to get some help? I would really like to get this reestablished. Thanks!

Hey Justgirves,
So you have tried running both copies of 1Password and no such luck?
I wonder if you need to verify that you are syncing in one of them to make sure they are getting things off dropbox? Open 1Password, go to Preferences > Syncing and check to make sure that it says "Dropbox" with a selected agilekeychain/opvault file. If it's not setup you can select Dropbox and select the correct file in your Dropbox.
Could you possibly have multiple copies of opvault or agilekeychain files in your Dropbox?
Could your Dropbox data be out of date and needs to be updated? For your opvault and agilekeychain file in Dropbox, does it have a recent "Modified" date when you get info in the Finder?
Let's try to troubleshoot a bit more before we need to screenshare.
