Why is There 'Logins' and 'Accounts'? Why not have them combined?

@SebastianRasor01: That's a great idea, since there's certainly a lot of overlap. In fact, we've already started doing this on some platforms (for example, if you sync to 1Password for iOS, you'll find that these are converted to Logins), and this change will come to a future version of the 1Password for Windows desktop app as well. Thanks for the feedback! :)

@brenty Alright, thanks! Not very many companies have forum support that is this quick. Lol

No problem! And thanks for the compliment. We strive to do our best — and frankly it helps that we have such a great community here...and that I'm a bit of a night owl. We're here if you need anything else! :pirate:

  • Just to expand on brenty's post, Accounts is a group of related categories, just like Wallets. You can deselect both groups via the View Menu of the Windows app to stop grouping them on the sidebar and you'll see the category list now match closer to the iOS's list of categories.

Certain Accounts categories including Generic Account/FTP/IM/Amazon have been converted to Logins in recent new versions of 1Password for Android, iOS and OS X. The next version of Windows should match as well.
