Auto-Type not working with certain Keyboard-Layout(Us-intl with dead keys)

Hello,

I just wondered why a program wasn't accepting my password when auto-typed but accepting it when copy and pasted it. And then I remembered that I'm using the us-intl keyboard layout with dead keys. The Password has a ~ in it. When you type the ~ with us-intl with dead keys you type ~ and then space. This is not happening with Auto-Type and I would consider this a bug you should know of. It's easy to change the password for me to not use dead-keys but it wasn't very easy to find out why it's even happening.

/edit: This bug only happens when the dead-key is the last character in the password

  • Hi @pho,

We do use Windows APIs to translate or match characters as much as it can with different keyboard layouts. Unfortunately, it is difficult to try to manually handle the dead or even accent keys for all keyboard layouts and in different languages as well.

Thanks for letting us know about this and we'll check to see if there's a newer API that might work better.
