Can't connect Windows 10 Beta client to 1Password for Families

I've downloaded the Windows 10 Beta client to one of my devices and when I provide my 1Password for Families account information and click "sign in", the windows closes with no informational or error message. When I relaunch the app it is just as it was before trying to connect it.

    Hey @Tony_L,

Can you tell me which device is this crash occurring on? Also I'll need to see your logs to better diagnose what's going on. Since the app is crashing very early on, you'll need to go to the edge browser on your device and type op://email in the browser address bar. This will grab your log files and start composing an email for you so just send that email over and I'll start investigating :)

No problem. Where do I email it to?

......also, when I enter the "op://email" command it opens 1password and on the left hand sign it states "There are no vaults opened in this account". Where do I get the log files?

@Tony_L the "new message" email window with the "To" field and attachments already filled should appear immediately after entering this command.

To manually attach the logs, you can go here:
    C:\Users\YOUR USERNAME\AppData\Local\Packages\DC5C6510.1PasswordAlpha_2v019pwa6amcg\LocalState
and go to the "crashes folder" and attach any .txt file you find there. Once you're done, send the email to support+windowsmodern@agilebits.com

I'm not sure if my above reported issue has been resolved or not, but the new Windows 10 beta client is no longer crashing once I click sign in. It now just states "Unable to sign in, please check details provided and your network connection". Although there are no details provided. I've confirmed the account information is accurate.

  • @Tony_L we've fixed a number of crashes recently, but there is one particularly elusive crash that happens inside Windows RT networking subsystem.

Please try to sign in again (I think you don't even need to spell password right), when it failed run this link in Edge browser op://log
It will activate app's log with bunch of messages, either copy and send them to support+windowsmodern@agilebits.com or look yourself for something talking about "transport is unable to establish secure connection" (I can't remember exact wording, sorry). If you see that kind of message - somehow your Windows do not want to talk to our servers via Store apps networking.

If that is the case, there is a solution that works - run the desktop app instead! :) See here for details and where to get it.

P.S. if it's not the case, just send us log and we will work it out. We are aware of some people being unable to connect due to IP block :(

    Hope that helps

The log showed some sort of connect error. I was able to download the desktop app from the link you provided and that version was able to connect to my family account. Thank you for the assistance.
