Data disappeared in 1P Mac

Today when I went to fire up 1P6 and entered my master password, two of my vaults were completely empty.

I quit 1P and 1P Mini, restored the ~/Library/Application Support/1Password 4/ folder from a Time Machine backup and when I fired up 1P6, the vault still showed as empty. I quit both again and read the sqlite database which was showing over 2000 records in the items table.

I then launched 1P6 and did File->Restore from a backup (which unfortunately means I lost a few records as it was prior to creating some new passwords).

So, the good news is I'm back up and running (albeit missing a couple of things), but I'd like to understand what happened here so I can avoid this going forward! What do you need from me? Console doesn't show anything that seems valuable here.

Thank you,
-Chuck

    Hi there @chucksense,

I'm sorry you experienced this issue.

Assuming this was not you accidentally installing the App Store and AgileBits webstore versions of the app something may indeed have gone wrong with your data.

I'd wonder if you recently changed syncing methods recently? You didn't seem to mention recovering from syncing however, so I wonder if you sync at all.

I'd love to take a closer look at your system to see if we can determine why this happened (and to give you better instructions to get back up and running).

I'd like to ask you to create a Diagnostics Report from your Mac:

    https://support.1password.com/diagnostics/mac.html

Attach the Diagnostics Report to an email message addressed to support+forum@agilebits.com.

Please do not post your Diagnostics Report in the forums, but please do include a link to this thread in your email, along with your forum handle so that we can "connect the dots" when we see your Diagnostics Report in our inbox.

You should receive an automated reply from our BitBot assistant with a Support ID number. Please post that number here so we can track down the report and ensure that it is dealt with quickly. :)
