I can't add a login; the + sign is grayed out [Local vaults are read-only for now]
I am not able to add a login to my vault from the Windows desktop beta version. It will pull in new logins via dropbox, if I add them to my IOS versions.

Hi @CWO,
I've moved your thread to our Windows 10 Beta forum since it's not a beta of the 1Password 4.6 program.
Right now, the local vaults are read-only, you cannot add new items or edit existing items for .agilekeychain or .opvault files.
We are working to add full support for local vaults in a future update but we don't have a timeframe on this.
For now, you can use the iOS app to make changes and the Windows app will pick it up.

Hey @MikeT so you're saying that Windows users are unable to add new items to a vault? I'm a longtime mac user and just recently switched over to Windows. In my situation, everything still works on my macOS devices, but in Windows the +add option is greyed out. Additionally, the chrome plugin is experiencing issues with the "helper", which I'm assuming may be linked to this.

Hi @sheldonpoppy,
so you're saying that Windows users are unable to add new items to a vault?
For those using 1Password 6 Beta, yes, local AgileKeychain or OPVault files cannot be edited yet, only the vaults via 1Password Families or Teams can be edited.
If you do not plan to use 1Password Families or Teams, I'd suggest using the stable 1Password 4 for Windows instead, which will let you manage your local vaults with full support.
Additionally, the chrome plugin is experiencing issues with the "helper", which I'm assuming may be linked to this.
That shouldn't be a problem, the extension can fill from your local vaults. Did you previously install 1Password 4 on that PC or is 1Password 6 Beta the first version of 1Password on your PC?
Can you open the main 1Password 6 Beta app, unlock, and keep it open. Now, restart your browser, visit one of your site's login page and then click on the 1Password icon on your browser's toolbar, does it now fill or do you see a new tab opened up saying 1Password Helper cannot be found?
Which browser are you using?

Is there an updated timeline to when Windows 10 users will be able to add new items to local vaults in 1Password6 for Teams? This functionality is needed! - Thanks

@nickcada: 1Password for Teams does not support local vaults; rather, data is hosted on 1Password.com. 1Password 4 supports local vaults and Windows 10 fully, so that may be a better option for you. Otherwise you can use the new 1Password 6 Windows desktop app with full support for editing data in 1Password.com Accounts. I hope this helps!

Another +1 for this issue.
I'm another long-time user who just recently switched from Mac to Windows. This is a major issue for me, made especially annoying by the fact that my existing 1Password license seems to only apply to the new Windows app and not the old one. I have worked hard to keep my vaults out of the cloud and do not want to switch now.
Thanks!0 -
Hi @sursiks,
Thanks for writing in.
This is a major issue for me, made especially annoying by the fact that my existing 1Password license seems to only apply to the new Windows app and not the old one.
Just to be clear, your license is for 1Password 4 for Windows, not 1Password 6 because 1Password 6 doesn't support licenses nor is it an upgrade yet to 1Password 4. You can find 1Password 4 from here: https://agilebits.com/downloads, which does support local vaults completely.

This should never have been released. It's incomplete and frankly broken software. Broken installers (Mac) and now this under Windows. C'mon guys.

Hey @EdSlowdance,
Sorry to hear you're disappointed. The issue on the Mac was a something out of our control. You can read more about the issue and the ensuing excitement (e.g. panic) in our blog post: Certificates, Provisioning Profiles, and Expiration Dates: The Perfect Storm
As for 1Password 6 for Windows, can you please elaborate what you're disappointed with?
Cheers,
Alex

Same issues as the OP. I can also not Edit an existing contact, that icon is greyed out as well as the +New Item icon. I also found that new logins I created on my Mac under 1Password 6 sync'd to my PC (Win 10 Pro), but were not viewable under version 6.
I have now uninstalled 1Password 6 and reverted back to 1Password 4 - all is well. New logins created under 1Pass 6 on Mac were also now viewable under 1Pass 4.
So 4 it is on the PC.

Yep, thanks for letting us know. 1Password 4 is the latest supported version for local standalone vaults while 1Password 6 is currently for 1Password memberships.
