Open vault in Win 10 modern App
I have backed up via the desktop app, both opvault and keychain, no matter if I backup to the cloud or local and try and open either in the modern app nothing opens, no error messages - nothing?
What am I missing here?

Hi @guyp2k,
First, I've moved your thread to our Windows 10 Beta forum since you're trying to use the 1Password Beta for Windows 10 app.
When you said nothing opens, do you mean you can unlock the vault but no data shows up or do you mean you've selected the 1Password.opvault folder and nothing happens afterward?

From the modern app, Settings - Open Vault or Folder, where I backed up from the desktop app, there is a file (.opvault.zip) nothing imports/opens in the modern app. I am never prompted for a password, only when I launch the modern app I provide my "Master Password."
Thanks

Hey @guyp2k,
Can you please unpack the
*.opvault.zip
file so the resulting folder will have the file extension.opvault
? You should be able to open this file in 1Password for Windows 10.Cheers

Unpacked and this is the result.... Renamed directory to .opvault and now I am prompted for a password - provide password which does not work, same password I use for the desktop app. This shouldn't be this difficult and I understand this is in beta, maybe I should just wait for GA?????
At a high-level I could backup via the desktop app and open the vault in the Win 10 modern app, is that not the case?

Hi @guyp2k,
No, you're not supposed to use your 1Password backup files to open in any 1Password apps, restoring from a backup file is a separate function. This is not an issue with the beta app, the desktop app would do the same thing, it won't open the backup file like this. In addition, a backup file does not mean it's the same as the vault you're using in 1Password right now, it can be different.
Based on your screenshot, it's an AgileKeychain vault, not an OPVault.
Do this:
- Open the 1Password 4.6 for Windows program, unlock, and go to the File Menu > Preferences > General.
- Look at the directory next to the 1Password Vault: and use 1Password Beta for Windows 10 to open that vault folder.
Does that let you unlock it properly?

Yes, that worked. Thanks for the replies...
