I am having the same problem and am running the latest version published in the Windows Store for Windows 10. Every time I create a new 1Password in a team vault, it crashes. Every time I add a password in a shared team vault from another non-Windows device, the Windows 1Password app crashes. When I open 1Password in Windows and see the entry I added remotely, or tried to add from Windows, the app crashes. When I restart 1Password again, it finally shows up.

    Was this tested?

@DharmaJay: I hope you don't mind, but I've split you off in a new discussion so we can focus on your issues with the current beta.

I'm sorry that you're having so much trouble there. We're working on an update to address some issues similar to what you describe. We can't ourselves test 1Password with every configuration or with all of the data that users might have, so thank you for participating in the beta. You're awesome!

It sounds like you have the 1Password for Windows 10 beta app open when an item is added from another device and then it crashes. Is that correct? Do you have the same problem if the app is closed when data is added elsewhere before you open it?

I'm glad to hear that restarting the app seems to help, but we'll keep working to squash the bugs! :)

  • @DharmaJay just to confirm are you using Windows 10 build 10586 (November update), not the Windows 10 Insider build 14342? There are issues fixed in insider builds that still exists in older builds. For example when system fails to transform date time to a string internally and crash the app abruptly. We are working on fix. Thanks for your patience!

Hi @SergeyTheAgile, yes, Windows 10 build 10586. Is there a way I can get the newer build to test and see if it's more stable? The issues I'm experiencing seem pretty easy to reproduce, at least in my environment.

@brenty - One of the scenarios where I see the crash is when I have the 1Password for Windows 10 beta app open when an item is added from another device. Yes, I still have the same problem if the app is closed when data is added elsewhere before you open it. In this case, the app crashes when I open it, it shows up in the list but the details pane is empty, the update content isn't displayed. After restart, I see the entry with no data, and it crashes again. When I start up the app yet again, the data then shows up.

  • Hi @DharmaJay,

Just to be clear, we didn't change any of our code for Insider builds of Windows, it's the same code on both stable and Insider versions of Windows, it's just that Microsoft has improved their subsystems for the Windows Store apps, which improves our app as well.

Please do not try to use the Insider builds just to avoid the crashes in 1Password, you would risk de-stabilizing the rest of the system as it is a beta version of Windows itself. However, if you like living on the cutting edge and you do want to be an Insider to test Microsoft's latest beta versions, you can sign up here: https://insider.windows.com

That's the same bug we're talking, as soon as the app process the date string, it will crash. The date field can come from anywhere; adding it in a new item in the app or from other 1Password apps on other devices.

One thing we do know, this is not affected in our desktop beta version, you can try using that to see if it is more stable. You can find it here: https://discussions.agilebits.com/discussion/64591/help-us-welcome-1password-6-to-our-windows-family#latest
