Can't add new item and problem pinning app to taskbar
Hi!
Thank you guys for the new Windows beta, keep up the hard work!
I've encountered some problems using it, one of them very important. I can't add new items in any vault. Last lines of the log:
Routed to op://show?vault=2. (0,04 sec)
Rendered main page for op://show?vault=2. (0,04 sec)
Loaded 53 item overviews from database. (0,02 sec)
Failed to count items by category!

Routed to op://create/44?vault=2. (0,00 sec)
No vault specified to create item of 001 category!
Routed to op://iddqd. (0,04 sec)
Saving log messages: 131.
Destination is op://log/copy...
It seems that the app is having some kind of problem knowing which vault is selected at the moment of adding a new item.
The other problem is not as important as the previous one. After installing and logging in with the families credentials, if you try to pin the app to the taskbar, it will create a duplicate icon in the taskbar. But, if you close the app and reopen it and try to pin it again, it won't create the duplicate icon, it will pin normally.

@miniskulljob you are totally right about internal confusion of which vault is selected! We are working to fix that :) There is ongoing change of the internal data flow, some things are working better, while others suffer till we get it fixed. I hope to publish an update soon.

@miniskulljob I've tried and failed to reproduce pin duplication, what Windows version/build are you using?
One theory is that desktop app can be started multiple times (for now, we need to teach it to not to do so). It could have been that you have had 2 instances running and pinned one of them?

@SergeyTheAgile I'm using Windows 10 Pro Insider Preview build 14342. Do you think the problem is specific to that insider build?
The problem was right after I installed the app (using the link in Edge), it started the app automatically and then I logged in with my credentials. Then I tried to pin it to the taskbar and it duplicated the icon. Maybe it's because the first time it's launched it has a different process name...EDIT: One more thing, the app doesn't remember the window size and position :'(

We will keep an eye on it, I'm running the same insider build.

Hi @miniskulljob,
EDIT: One more thing, the app doesn't remember the window size and position
That's a known issue, it works fine for the Windows Store app but it appears we need to add more code for the desktop app. We'll get it fixed. Thanks!

I have exactly the same error with both this Windows Beta 6 and the updated Win10 version 2016.05.18
Logging in with my team/family account, I cannot add items.
I uninstalled and installed again
rebooted my PC
When to the local app data folder and deleted any sign of existenceSame error as in the beginning of the thread.
My logs looked exactly like that.0 -
an update:
Failed to count items by category!
in logs is a false alarm, I'll remove it. It happens when app is trying to show number of "software license" items and you don't have any. Which is a pretty legal case.0
