Usability issue: The master password entry on the unlock screen isn't wide enough

Once the master password is long enough to fill the entire box you get zero feedback from the UI that the characters you're typing are actually being accepted by the input field.

Given the rather large min-size you've specified on the app there should be plenty of space for making the input wider.

Fwiw my password is 40+ characters.

@redoz: First of all, awesome password length! You bring up a good point: not being able to tell the characters are being accepted is a bit odd. We'll see what the best way to address that might be. Thank for bringing this up! :)

@brenty putting all my eggs in one basket made me reevaluate the basket I was using, I figured "go big or go home" would apply nicely here.

I was just about to suggested a UI change here too - I wouldn't mind if the password field is too narrow for my long diceware phrase but it would be nice to have some visual indication that the cursor has moved and a new character was added.

  • Hi @UltraNurd,

We do agree, there needs to be some feedback that you're still going in the password field.
