Which solution to edit 1P vault stored in Dropbox
Hello there,
currently I am using a tablet SurfacePro under Win10 + a smartphone Blackberry. My question is how can I still do "more" than just consulting my entries. It seems that I cannot edit nor add any item to my vault through the currently available tools for my hardware!?
Any advice/assistance/clarification would be highly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
1Password Version: Win10 beta
Extension Version: 6.0.161u
OS Version: Win10 Pro
Sync Type: Dropbox

Hi @Didiko, you're right, at the moment you're only able to view your entries as Dropbox/OneDrive/Local Vaults are all read-only.
You may wish to look at creating a 1Password Family or 1Password Team account. These really do open up 1Password 6 for Windows to benefit from a lot more functionality than the read-only mode you're currently experiencing.
With Team & Family accounts, you can start creating new items, edit existing items, add tags and everything is managed for you so you do not have to manage your vaults manually with Dropbox. It may well be worth taking a look at https://1password.com/families or https://1password.com/teams :+1:

Thanks, I know these solutions but do not need them. I am currently comfortable with "just" a Dropbox vault.
If I get it correctly, I could install the "old" 1P version 4 for Windows to get "all" normal functionalities back (instead of using the Win10 beta version).
Thanks for confirming that the above reasoning is correct.0 -
No worries at all @Didiko - if you don't need a 1Password account then 1Password 4 for Windows is likely to be your best bet as you have more control over your Dropbox managed vaults :chuffed:

Hi @Doodler_Benji, is this a temporary limitation, or will editing in the UWP app be limited to subscription based accounts? I really like the new UX. I already bought 1Password for other platforms and don't want to pay for a subscription I don't need. But I'm willing to pay for this feature, because you should get paid for your good work ;)

Thanks @raminger, I'm glad you've been able to take a read through the post. Thank you so much for your very kind words, it means an awful lot to us and we're very grateful to you for your time, feedback and kindness.
We want to make sure we can provide a great windows experience for everyone, so whether you're using 1Password with a subscription or self managing your data we want to make sure things are "how they should be.. and better". I cannot promise anything official but we would love to bring dropbox/oneDrive/local vault item creation/editing up to where it needs to be. So users have the choice and a great experience with either choice. After all, its your data and you should be able to work with it how you see fit!
Sure, we have lots of limitations at the moment which are preventing this happening at the moment, but our wonderful developers here are pretty much working around the clock, every day (I don't think they know what a weekend is!) to make everything happen.
Please do keep any feedback, requests or just awesome things coming!
