Trouble getting started with extension
I started using 1password online with my free trial. I saved a number of logins there. Now I want to start using it on my PC with Windows 10. I tried installing 1password 4 but could not find how to link this to my master account. Then I tried uninstalling 1password 4 and installing 1password 6. The trouble is when I try using the extension for Google Chrome I get an error message "no matching items found". I have spent a lot of time on this.

I've run into this too and as far as I can tell it is just poorly communicated.
The way the helper works with 1Password 6 at the minute seems to be that when you click the helper button it just fills in any details it has for the current page - it doesn't give you a dropdown with a list of options like it does on other platforms (and like it did with 1Pwd 4).
So as long as the URL in the browser matches the URL from the login in your vault, it will fill in the form details. It doesn't give you any feedback or indication that anything has happened, though.

@mandy_lisa, for the extension to find matches, you must have the 1Password open and unlocked.

The only other thing I would add @antplant is that we will also display multiple matches for a specific Url.
Let me know if this helps :)

Hi guys,
We're working on improving the experience with the extension, it's still in a rough beta shape.
First, no matching items found means that it is connected and working but 1Password 6 Beta cannot find any Login items that matches the URL of the site you're on. It's not an error but rather that it can't find anything to fill.
antplant is correct that if you click on the 1Password icon, it will fill directly instead of opening up the menu but that's not the case when it says no matching items found. This means you need to open the site's login page first before you click on 1Password icon or you can locate the Login item manually in 1Password 6 Beta app first and use the Browse button to perform a Go and Fill action, which 1Password will open the login page and fill for you.

Thanks everyone. I see how this is working now. A question though: how do I get the helper to save new login info from the browser?

Another question/ comment: not every website is recognised by the helper even though the URL seems to be exactly the same as what I have stored in my vault.

Hi @mandy_lisa,

You cannot at the moment, this is coming in a future update. For now, you have to manually save a new Login item in the 1Password 6 Beta app.

Great, could you let us know which sites this happened on and also tell us the full URL saved in the Login item, so we can try to reproduce this? You can email us the information at support+windowsbeta@agilebits.com. Please let us know here when you sent the email, so we can confirm we got the email.

Hi MikeT,
I have sent an email with some examples.
Also, please can you refer me to a page where I can read about how different family members access their particular vaults and I get to keep mine private.
Thanks.0 -
Hi @mandy_lisa,
I got the email and I've replied to you.
As for the family members, your Personal Vault is always private to you. You choose what your family can see by creating a separate vault and inviting them into that vault. You'd always know who have access to which vault via your Admin Console via your 1Password's Families site via 1Password.com. Here's our guide: https://support.1password.com/family-sharing/

all is working exept for the browser extensions. On the w10 PCS there is no Icon in none of the browsers (Edge, Explorer11 and Firefox)

Thank you. Another question: some websites have a few fields, eg. username, password and ID number. How do you save this login information in the app?

@hugowebneet: Sorry for the confusion! Make sure you're using the latest 1Password 6 desktop beta, and you'll also need to install the browser extension in Firefox. Edge is not yet supported, and in we're able to add IE, that will be further out as well.
@mandy_lisa: It isn't yet possible to save new logins with the beta, but it's something we'll be adding in the future for sure! :)

Hi guys,
@mandy_lisa, just to be clear, you can add new Login items in the main app but it is not possible to add a third field yet. However, you should save the ID number in the notes field via the main 1Password app.
We will add custom fields in a future beta update, so you can add a custom password field to match the ID field and we do want to make the filling work based on what data you give to 1Password.

Thanks for all the answers. Another question: how do you sync between all the passwords stored online and the passwords in the app?

Hi @mandy_lisa,
I'm not sure I understand the question, our 1Password Families/Team servers automatically keeps your data up to date on all 1Password devices that is logged into your 1Password Account. Your 1Password Account is how all 1Password apps knows about your 1Password data.
Does that answer your question?
