Why is the "New item"-Button disabled? - Why is the "All Vaults" totaly garbled up?

1 I read in another thread about the location of the button. (As I was confused because its disabled, I thought there might be another place for it)

2 Once all data has been synced, the "All Vaults" tab is showing off nonsene. "Categories-001", "Categories-003", even "Categories-100" and "Categories-111" do exist.

All the data saved in these are also freaking up. Being named "00a2a4ba9d" and so on (about 32 characters each?) with an description like "item #202".
Within the "Dropbox" part, they all look fine though.

  • Hi @muhkuh2005,

Sorry for the trouble. This looks like a database issue where 1Password 6 isn't correctly displaying the meta data and instead shows the category IDs and the UUIDs of each item.

Can you please update to the latest version of the beta? You will be asked to log into your 1Password account again. The old data and the old database won't be touched.

Please let us know if things work normally after the update.

    Thanks,

    Alex

Hey Alex, I just update and... Now things got worse.
Once I choose the Password Database in my Dropbox it asks me to enter the master password.
But neither pressing the Button, nor enter will work out.
Once I press cancel or go back by clicking the cross I see several empty Dropbox-Databases.
In fact its the amount of times I either pressed enter or clicked the button.

Luckily I saw on my other devices, that the database on Dropbox is untouched/unharmed.

Hey @muhkuh2005, this is known bug. When you click "Open" we are adding your Dropbox vault to the app, we just don't provide feedback of this action nor do we disable the button to ensure that you aren't adding multiple copies of the same vault (which is what you've seen). We're working on a fix for this issue and we'll have this bug taken care of in the next build. For now, remove the old copies of the Dropbox vault you've added and re-add this vault but click the "Open" button once and wait to be navigated to the vault. Sorry again for this issue, and thanks for taking the time to notify us of it. We'll have it resolved for you soon.

    Headsup:
When I tried to add the vault now, I was unable to enter the password at first. It kind of looked disabled for about five seconds.
Afterwards I entered the password and clicked the submit button.
After about five minutes I took another look and it had loaded the vault successfully.

Thank you for the support so far, and please dont resolve things for me, but for everyone of course :chuffed:

    Hi @muhkuh2005,

We've shipped a new update that will improve the initial vault sync experience a bit, it will now show you a progress indicator once you unlock the vault.

The reason for the initial delay is that 1Password is connecting to Dropbox to find the vault's files and then download its encryption key, so it can let you unlock it. This can be slow depending on network speed and how large your vault is. Once unlocked, we start downloading your data.

We have plans to redesign the whole experience here, so it will get better soon.

Thanks for sharing your experience with us.
