Can't install Latest Beta6, unknown error 1001? [Install .NET 4.6.2 to fix this]
Hello,
The subject pretty much says it all. I am unable to install the latest version of 1Password 6 beta. I run the installer, acknowledge the UAC prompt, and a few seconds later, the installer crashes with unknown error 1001. Prior to installing, I installed the DotNet framework, NDP46-KB3045560. This has now occurred on two different installs of Windows. It initially happened on my production install. I then tried a fresh re-install, and it occurred again. The only other thing of note I can think of to report is that I’m running the latest version of Avira Antivirus Free.
Thanks,
Al

Hi @CallMeAl,
This can happen if your .NET framework is out of date. Please install the latest one from here, and after that, reboot and try 1Password again.
We are working on building a new installer that will handle this gracefully for you but it may take a while.

Thanks, that did it. I think my confusion occurred because I initially didn't have the framework installed at all. The installer directed me to a download page, but it was for version 4.5 of the framework, so I had to google for 4.6, and ended up finding the wrong one.
Thanks again,

That's great to hear and you're welcome.
The installer is supposed to take you to version 4.6.1 (which is the required version but 4.6.2 is newer), it did for most of our users but for some, they were redirected to 4.5. Hopefully, our ongoing work for a new installer will address this once and for all.
