  • Hi @smartsyartsy,

    Welcome to the forums!

How do I tell 1Password app that I want to open an app and not a website via the browser?

    You don't. :)

You can read about how to use 1Password with apps that have 1Password support here:

Use the 1Password extension to fill in Safari and apps on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

I hope that helps. Should you have any other questions or concerns, please feel free to ask.

    Ben

I read it again and it doesn't answer my question. I don't want it to open the browser but it does any way

  • Right. As I mentioned: that isn't an option. To login to an app with 1Password:

    1. If the app supports our extension you can login that way: https://support.1password.com/ios-extension/ (same link as above)
    2. If the app does not support our extension you can copy and paste your credentials from 1Password into it.

But you cannot have 1Password launch an app and fill credentials into it. iOS does not allow apps to interact with each other in that manner.

    Thanks!

    Ben
