Chrome agent does not detect the web site you are on - you need to search for the password entry.

@Peter42: Can you tell me what you mean by "Chrome agent"? 1Password mini will show logins matching the current URL, but you can view all of your logins in the main app.

Chrome extension - the component you install to enable you to fill in login pages.

It only allows me to search it does not recognise what page I'm on and offer appropriate details.

@Peter42: Ah, the 1Password browser extension for Chrome. Thanks for clarifying. I thought you might be referring to some part of Chrome itself.

The 1Password extension will only offer you logins matching the current URL to protect against phishing attacks. So, for example, when I am at google.com, I'm offered my (rather long) list of Google Account logins. Make sure that Chrome is up to date, restart your PC, and then have 1Password running and unlocked. If you're still having trouble, can you give an example of the URL you're at and the URL you have saved for your login item? Thanks in advance!

Found the problem - since I'm using unified Google for all browser sessions along with Google for Education it has automatically installed the V4 software

@Peter42: If you mean the 1Password browser extension for Chrome, 4.5.9 is the current stable release. It sounds like you're describing that the extension is being sync'd through your Google Account. That's okay! All versions of the 1Password desktop app 4 and later use the v4 extension. If you're referring to something else though and it's working for you now, please let me know what finally worked for you, as it may help others with a similar setup. :)

No it initially reported a V6 extension - then google sync took over and I think the entire thing was corrupted. I removed the plug in - restarted the browser and manually installed the latest 4x release and all is working fine now.

  • Hi @peter42,

Thank you for the clarification, it makes sense now. You have Chrome Sync enabled, which is syncing your extensions and it overwrite your pervious extensions that got things mixed up, which can also lead registering 1Password 4 as the default helper/agent.
