Editing Tags and importing data with folders

As a workaround while 1Password 6 Beta Desktop for Windows does not support tag-editing, I am editing my Tags via https://my.1password.com/signin

Hi @nhDOBsfc,
How are you editing your tags on the website? Just to be clear, we're not talking about editing tags within the items itself, we're talking about the ability to delete or rename tags on the left sidebar.
1Password 6 Beta does let you edit tags in the items itself, you edit the item and scroll to the tags field to remove or add tags but you can't right-click on the tag itself to delete it or rename it.

Hi @MikeT
I was speaking of editing tags within the items themselves. After reading your note above, I now see that I can edit tags within the items themselves on 1Password 6 Beta for Windows Desktop also.I am completely new to tags. I always used folders in my 1Password 4 (and prior). Now, after reading this board for a while, I've learned that the development team is intends for Tags to be the long-term replacement for folders and that folders are not coming back, which is just fine with me. I'm starting to use tags for the first time today.
I have hundreds of items in my 1Password and need to organize them. I'm just doing a little bit at a time as I use each item.

Thanks for the clarification and yes, we are aiming to use Tags to replace folders and we hope to extend tags to be more powerful over time.

Thanks, @MikeT . As a suggestion, it would have been nicer if during the transition from the old system (shared vaults on Dropbox) to the new https://my.1password.com system, if all my items had been automatically tagged-on-import with their old folder names rather than the "Imported " tag. At the current state of Tags-implementation, Tags seem equal to folders for my purposes. If I could have multiple tags for each 1Password Item, then Tags would indeed be a step up from Folders.

Hi @nhDOBsfc,
 That's why we like tags, it's more flexible like that. One of the things we want to add in the future is smart folders, so you can set up rules to show items with both tags and other stuff like dates, item types and so on.
I'm a little confused about your issue with the imported tag. We do tag your item with the old folder names, so you don't use any structure when you import data or migrate to your 1Password account. Are you saying when you did your import, none of the folders were remapped as tags for your items?

@MikeT , yes, I am "saying when you [I] did your [my] import, none of the folders were remapped as tags for your [my] items."
However, at the time my objective was to move from agilekeychain to OPVault because of a security article I'd read. I wasn't really intending move to the subscription service or move to 1Password Beta 6 Desktop for Windows because I didn't that any of those existed.
So, I may not have migrated through the preferred approach for the subscription service, because I was following these instructions https://support.1password.com/switch-to-opvault/ rather than these instructions: https://support.1password.com/migrate-1password-account/ .
Anyway, I have modified so many things since I migrated that I don't really want to try to go back and re-try an import.
For background see:
https://discussions.agilebits.com/discussion/69007/what-should-i-uninstall-to-continue-with-beta-6-for-windows#latestI'm pleased to read that for most people on most imports that folders get converted to tags.
All the best!
