1Password not minimising to tray
I saw in recent update notes that 1Password will now automatically minimise to the system tray. This is not happening on my side (Windows 10 64bit). I have 1Password set to start automatically when I sign in to Windows, and when the application launches it does not launch to the system tray (as expected). However, trying it on another machine (Windows 8 64bit) it does launch at startup directly to the system tray. I have checked all the settings and I cannot find where to set this (if anywhere).
1Password Version: 6.0.245
Extension Version: 4.6.2.1
OS Version: Windows 10 64bit
Sync Type: 1Password account

Hi @Alanper,
It appears we weren't clear in our update notes, we do apologize for this.
What we did in the last update is that we removed the Minimize to notification area option. The reason we removed it is that 1Password will be minimizing to notification area anyway and turning it on or off wouldn't change anything, which is why we've removed the option.
What you saw on Windows 8.1 is the expected and only behavior. I'm surprised you're seeing a different one on Windows 10. First, can you confirm you're using 6.0.245 by opening the main 1Password app, unlock and click on Settings (gear icon) on top right to confirm the build number on the bottom of the menu?
I just tested this again a few times on Windows 10 and it is starting up in the minimized state via the notification area.
Do you recall manually adding 1Password to the startup folder?

Checked the version as requested. It is 6.0.245d.
I didn't manually make any changes to the start-up folder.EDIT. To avoid confusion, on Windows sign-in the main application window opens minimised on the start bar. The 1Password icon is also loaded in the system tray. If I close the 1Password application main window the system tray icon remains.

Hi @alanper,
Thanks for the extra clarification, that's all fine. When you click on the close button, you've closed the main 1Password window but 1Password mini is still running in the notification area.
To exit both completely, click on the 1Password icon in the notification area to select Exit.

Just for kicks, I uninstalled and reinstalled the app. Same behaviour...
I noticed that after uninstall and reinstall the application settings remained. Is there a way to uninstall completely?0 -
Hi @alanper,
I'm not sure if you saw my post when you replied but the behavior you saw with the close button is expected.
The settings are stored in your database file, reinstalling doesn't reset the settings and there's no need to reset because what you're seeing is normal unless we're misunderstanding the issue.

Yes, the behaviour of the close button is expected, but the on Windows sign-in main window showing in start bar isn't, right? (see attached).
It should not be appearing, and only the notification area icon should load, correct?

Hi @alanper,
That's normal for now and will be fixed in the next update. 1Password doesn't do a silent start yet, so when Windows open 1Password, it opens the window, which goes into the taskbar by default to avoid flashing 1Password in front of you when you're just starting up.
The next update should do a silent start, so you'd only see it in the notification area.
