Progress of windows beta
HI,
First apologies if this is discussed elsewhere. I have been searching around but couldn't find anything.
I was wondering how far away are we from seeing 1password 6 for windows 10 released. I know it's been in beta for a long time now, but some update as to how long we will need to wait would be nice :)
Thanks!

Hi @Qutrit,
The short answer is we don't know, it all depends on our internal review/QA testing along with the feedback from our community here.
We originally wanted to ship it back in August but we had to do a last minute major upgrade to our internal database engine, which ate up nearly a month worth of development. We are aiming for this month but we try not to promise anything because we did miss our previous deadlines twice.
We're getting very close, we're still finishing up some features we want to polish, like the new password generator we've just shipped and to address a few internal crashes we're seeing from our beta team.

Thanks for the update. It just feels a bit left behind since we have stable version 6 running in every other single platform :).
I look forward to that! :)

Hi @Qutrit,
We could call it 1Password 7 if we want but that wouldn't be fair to other platforms . The versioning doesn't tell anyone the full story and it is more about the feature parity than just the version.
For an example, 1Password 6 for Mac/iOS is based on a rebuilt and unified codebase starting from 1Password 4, which was released back in 2013 and at first, it didn't have everything either.
1Password 6 for Windows is a clean new codebase (not even rebuilt), where we have to implement everything by hand. Initially, it is going to take much longer to get going because the foundation is still being built but we're reaching that stage of development where we can start building new features on top of a solid foundation.
Unfortunately, we did try to attempt a rebuilt codebase from 1Password 4 for Windows but it didn't meet our requirements and that was scrapped to work on a new one instead, which meant a lot of time was lost.
