Any plans to release an interim cut of the UWP app?
For those of us who have left Windows 8/ 7 / Vista / XP etc world behind, any plans to release a interim cut of the UWP app for Desktop / Mobile? Understand that there are more 'legacy' users out there so you want to concentrate on the older win32 codebase but the odd cut now and again would be appreciated.

@architect1337 an update for UWP app is coming, there is no doubt about that. Both desktop and universal apps share a lot of code and there are many improvements expected with the next update. While it's true - we have quite a lot of users running Windows 7 (roughly half of population is still there), the main reason we put more focus on older Win32 app is because we can provide browser integration there. I hate to say it, but UWP is yet to prove that app can integrate with Edge or other browser. For now we recommend using desktop app on desktops and UWP app on mobile. With all that being said, I'm actually working on the update, it will take some time, but it will be there ;)

I remember Agilebits had similar challenges with iOS and getting access to Safari. Apple sort of solved that problem for vendors. Hopefully Microsoft can offer a similar way forward that maintains the sandbox of UWP but allows data to be exchanged.

Hi @architect1337,
Yep, we've shared some concerns about this with Microsoft and they may find a way for Edge to support local extensions like us. Hopefully, there'll be progress in this area soon, it also took a year or two for Apple to make the same changes that allow us to work in Mobile Safari on iOS.
