I have made progress- please see the last comment...

I have a new computer at work and I'm trying to get 1Password setup.

I have 1Password for Mac and iOS. I am using Dropbox for syncing. I have installed Dropbox on the new PC and it has completed syncing and is up-to-date. The Mac and iOS apps are working fine. The Windows 1Password I am having trouble with shows 223 total items. My iOS device shows 747 items (which is correct). Many of my logins on the PC are missing. Not sure what needs to be done at this point?

1Password Version: 6.1.286d
Extension Version: Not Provided
OS Version: Windows 7, (6.1, build 7601 svc pack 1)
Sync Type: Dropbox

Additional info- I am unable to use "Sign in with Dropbox" option on 1Password. I am running Dropbox and synching my 1password folder. The Sign-in with Dropbox option won't work (I suppose) because I am behind an authenticating proxy. I do use the "sign in with Dropbox" option on my iOS device...

    And yet there's more! :)

I noticed I have a Dropbox folder called "1Password (Selective Sync Conflict)". When I open that folder with 1Password, I then see all my items (747). So now I guess my question is what is this folder? Am I still using the folder called "1Password"? Are my logins spread between these different vaults? How can I (or should I) combine them?

I think I have this figured out, so you can close the ticket... I signed up for the 1password account, then copied the items from the good vault to the account vault. Then I removed the folder vaults from 1password so everything is on the account vault.

The thing I'd like agilebits to fix

is that my corporate proxy has a password and I must enter that in 1Password for windows to get it to work. Since I have to change this password periodically, I would prefer that I didn't have to do this. Either that, or let me specify the proxy server to use, since I host a private proxy server that already knows my authentication password on the corporate proxy server.

  • Hi @shhQuiet,

Thank you for writing in, letting us know about your issue, and the solution you found.
It sounds very much like either Dropbox had a glitch when syncing on Windows or the selective sync feature was configured in a strange way.

In any case: with a 1Password account synching issues should be a thing of the past.

We're very sorry about the inconvenience with the proxy server. We are going to make improvements to the way this particular setting works, hoping to integrate it more deeply with Windows and at the same time allow increased configurability. I cannot give you an estimated date for these changes, unfortunately.

For the time being you'll have to change the network settings every time the proxy credentials change.

    Cheers,

    Alex
